QUÉBEC CITY, Jan. 10, 2021 /CNW Telbec/ - The most recent data on the evolution of COVID-19 in Québec show 2,588 new cases, bringing the total number of people infected to 228,821, of which 195,663 have now recovered. The data also report 39 new deaths, for a total of 8,686. Among these 39 deaths, 14 have occurred in the last 24 hours, 23 have occurred between January 3 and January 8 and 2 have occurred before January 3. The number of hospitalizations decreased by 12 compared to the previous day, for a cumulative total of 1,380. Among these, the number of people in intensive care decreased by 3, for a total of 203. The samples conducted on January 8 amount to 35,114 for a total of 5,195,725. Finally, 9,264 doses of vaccine were administered yesterday, for a total of 84,387.

To limit to the utmost the virus' spread, it is important to:
- frequently wash your hands for 20 seconds with soap and water, especially when you come in from outside;
- use alcohol-based disinfectant on your hands if soap and water are unavailable;
- wear a face covering in most enclosed and partially enclosed public places and on public transit;
- respect the regulations in effect in your region.
