Cowbells and Sleigh Bells Ring in Banff National Park
Two Back-to-Back Weekends of Family Fun at WinterStart Festival
BANFF NATIONAL PARK, AB, Nov. 24 /CNW/ - One of Banff National Park's most anticipated annual festivals, The WinterStart Festival, returns with two weekends of ski racing and a day to celebrate all that is Christmas in the Rockies.
First up on the WinterStart agenda is the Bombardier Lake Louise WinterStart World Cup Races. The call has been put out for "more cowbell" to cheer on the world's top alpine ski racers as they start the World Cup speed season November 27 with the Men's Downhill and November 28 with the Men's Super G.
After a four-day brief hiatus, the cowbells will ring once more when World Cup fans head back to the Lake Louise Ski Area to cheer on the Ladies Downhill races on December 3 and 4 and the Ladies Super G races on December 5.
On December 4 trade in your cowbells for sleigh bells and head to downtown Banff for a number of free activities to get families in the holiday spirit including wagon rides, an ice carving demonstration, listening to roving carollers, and end the festive day with everyone's favourite; the Santa Claus Parade of Lights.
