CP Police ask for public assistance in solving suspicious Marpole Rail Bridge Fire
CALGARY, July 14, 2014 /CNW/ - The Canadian Pacific Police Service is asking for assistance in identifying the person responsible for a fire which burned part of the CP Marpole Railway Bridge and temporarily closed the Oak Street Bridge in Vancouver.
During rush hour at about 4:45 pm on July 9th, the base of the railway bridge caught fire on the Vancouver shoreline. The fire quickly spread to the deck of the bridge causing a large plume of black smoke to cover the nearby Oak Street Bridge.
Canadian Pacific Police Service would like to speak to a person of interest observed leaving the area just after the fire started as well as anyone who witnessed or took photographs of the fire scene as the fire progressed.
