CPhI South America Expands Offering for 2013, Announces Co-Location with Food Ingredients South America
SAO PAULO, Aug. 21, 2012 /CNW/ - Leading events organiser, UBM Live, announced today at the opening of CPhI South America 2012 that it plans to expand its offering in 2013 to better serve ingredients buyers in the South American market. The expansion includes the co-location of CPhI South America, South America's leading pharmaceutical networking events, with Food Ingredients South America (FiSA), South America's leading food ingredients networking event, bringing together the two leading ingredients buyers and decision makers in the region.
"CPhI's worldwide brand is stronger now than it has ever been based upon one simple premise: delivering equal value to the exhibitor and visitor," stated Greg Kerwin, CPhI Pharma Portfolio Director at UBM Live. "We believe the new aspects of CPhI South America and the co-location of FiSA continues that premise by delivering value on both sides of the equation."
Located in Sao Paulo, Brazil, CPhI South America provides unparalleled access to the dynamic Latin American pharmaceutical market. Brazil is the largest pharma market in the region, forecasted to achieve 20 percent growth in 2012 and to reach $95.2 billion BRL by 20161. In addition to the impressive growth in Brazil, Latin America's pharma market is expected to reach $80 billion USD at retail prices2. CPhI South America covers all aspects of pharma ingredients including APIs, Generic APIs, intermediates, fine chemicals, finished dosage, excipients, formulations and more. This year, CPhI South America expects more than 4,000 buyers with 40 percent international attendance and 250 exhibitors representing leading manufacturers and suppliers.
Supported by growing economic power and consumer demands for new food choices, Brazil is quickly becoming one of the most dynamic markets for food products in the world and innovative ingredient solutions are in high demand. With a 10 percent overlap in visitor data, including buyers interested in nutraceuticals, probiotics, amino acids, functional health foods, vitamins, global sourcing and more, the co-location of CPhI South America with FiSA will give exhibitors and distributors more reach to ingredients buyers than ever before.
"This powerful combination of events creates the most efficient, effective venue for ingredients buyers and suppliers to meet, make valuable business connections, and identify opportunities to capitalise on growth in the region," stated Joris Van Wijk, Managing Director at UBM Brazil.
FiSA has been the leading food ingredients show in South America for 17 years, with 14,000 active buyers from all around the world and more than 350 leading exhibitors, making FiSA the largest and most comprehensive event for food ingredients formulations and innovations in Latin America. FiSA exhibitors include Cargill, DSM, Tate & Lyle, Fortitech, Ajinomoto, Purac, Naturex, Solae, Vogler Ingredients, Dohler, Gelita, Rousselot, Wacker and many more.
Further enhancing its offering, CPhI is making some additional value-add expansions to CPhI South America 2013. Most notably, next year's event will feature InnoPack, which delivers the latest innovations in packaging to pharmaceutical and food buyers alike. Introduced at CPhI Europe in 2011, InnoPack addresses increasing demand for cost-effective packaging solutions and track and trace technologies that maintain quality, efficiency and patient safety. Since its initial introduction, InnoPack has successfully expanding with annual events in China, Southeast Asia, and Japan.
CPhI South America 2013 will also feature the ICSE Pavilion and the BioPh Trail. The ICSE Pavilion focuses on contract manufacturing and outsourcing solutions, providing an excellent platform for companies offering product and services within sectors such as clinical trials, contract research, laboratory services, drug discovery, packaging, analytical services and more. The BioPh Trail features companies in biotechnology and related fields, concentrating on research and development.
