TORONTO, June 8, 2016 /CNW/ - As the #CTVUpfront unfolds today, CraveTV confirmed it has concluded multi-studio deals for the exclusive acquisition of Hollywood's biggest new dramas for launch in Canada following the series' first-window seasons on CTV. The deals were negotiated with Warner Bros. International Television, Entertainment One (eOne), and Sony Pictures Television.
In all, a total of five of television's biggest-buzz broadcast dramas were acquired during the L.A. Screenings, led by DESIGNATED SURVIVOR (Entertainment One), starring Kiefer Sutherland and already described by critics as the "must get" series of the year. The political thriller is joined by: CONVICTION, (Entertainment One), a bad-girl legal series starring Hollywood heroine Hayley Atwell; TRAINING DAY (Warner Bros.), a reimagining of the groundbreaking film of the same name; NOTORIOUS (Sony), which interplays criminal law and the media; and TIME AFTER TIME (Warner Bros.), an epic love story charged with danger, adventure, and time travel. CraveTV subscribers will enjoy these series exclusively, beginning in Fall 2017.
CraveTV also announced today that it has concluded a multi-title, multi-year exclusive streaming deal with Warner Bros. International Television for the Canadian market that delivers some of 2016's hottest shows of the year to CraveTV, beginning this fall. Coming to CraveTV are two of the Top 5 new shows of last season: BLINDSPOT and LUCIFER; as well as superhero series DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW; and comedies THE DETOUR and ANGIE TRIBECA, both of which are set to debut following their first window on The Comedy Network.
"Today's announcement continues to underscore the brand promise to our subscribers that CraveTV is the home of great premium television, and the addition of these existing and future hits are a welcome addition to our exclusive catalogue of exceptional series," said Mike Cosentino, Senior Vice-President, Programming, CTV Networks and CraveTV, Bell Media.
