CUMIS raises $114,009 for United Way of Burlington and Greater Hamilton

BURLINGTON, ON, Jan. 30, 2013 /CNW/ - The CUMIS Group Limited (CUMIS) announced today that it has raised $114,009 for the United Way of Burlington and Greater Hamilton through staff pledges, fundraising events and a corporate donation in its 2012 campaign.

CUMIS staff members raised $62,793 through pledged donations and fundraising events, contests and raffles throughout the campaign. The company contributed an additional $51,216. Among the highlights of the campaign was a staff-organized silent auction, which raised nearly $4,000.

The United Way is the largest non-government funder of social services and the voluntary sector in Canada. With funding from local donors like The CUMIS Group Limited, United Way chapters in Canada are able to support their member agencies that provide vital health and social services to Canadian communities. Based on local needs and challenges, the United Way provides much-needed funding to its member agencies, helping to improve the quality of life for all Canadians.
