TORONTO, April 3, 2018 /CNW/ - PortsToronto and the Union representing 91 of its hourly and salaried employees have reached a tentative agreement.
In a joint statement issued today, the Toronto Civic Employees Union (TCEU), Local 416 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE 416), and PortsToronto stated:
"PortsToronto and CUPE 416 are pleased to announce the parties have reached a tentative collective agreement subject to ratification. The ratification vote will be held on April 11, 2018."
The parties reached the agreement early Friday morning, following a lengthy bargaining session.
Details are not being released until members impacted by the proposed agreement have had an opportunity to review and cast a vote at the April 11 ratification meeting.
Accordingly, neither the Union nor PortsToronto will comment further until after the ratification vote has taken place.
CUPE 416 represents airfield maintenance workers, fire fighters, ferry operators, electricians and specialized staff at PortsToronto.
