VANCOUVER, Feb. 28, 2013 /CNW/ - Following the release of a positive Prefeasibility Study demonstrating the economic and technical viability of the Florence Copper in-situ recovery project in central Arizona, Curis Resources Ltd. ("Curis" or the "Company") (TSX: CUV) is pleased to present its new corporate video Changing the Way Copper is Made to shareholders and project stakeholders.
The video outlines the process of in-situ copper recovery (ISCR), how the Phase 1 production test facility (PTF) at Florence Copper will be operated responsibly, how local and regional ground water quality will be protected, and how Florence Copper represents a significant near-term economic development opportunity for the Town of Florence and the surrounding region.
"Florence Copper represents the safest and most technologically advanced way to get copper out of the ground," said Michael McPhie, President and CEO of Curis Resources Ltd. "Our new video is part of a wider effort to engage with and educate the public about how in-situ copper recovery works, and outline how Florence Copper can make a profound near-term contribution to the economic and social well-being of Florence, Pinal County and the state of Arizona."
Curis Resources is focused on initiating a Phase 1 development program in the near term following receipt of its final operating permits. Initial copper production is anticipated to begin in late-2013 while work on permitting and engineering for Phase 2 commercial operations continues. The Company will continue to work and share information with local community members, elected officials, government regulators and other stakeholders in an ongoing effort to address all interests and concerns as the project advances.
