CVMA Welcomes Announcement of an Agreement to Address North American Steel and Aluminum Tariffs
TORONTO, May 17, 2019 /CNW/ - Canadian Vehicle Manufacturers' Association President, Mark A. Nantais issued the following statement:
The members of the Canadian Vehicle Manufacturers' Association (CVMA) greatly appreciate the perseverance of the Canadian government and its partners to reach an agreement to address steel and aluminum tariffs.
Resolving this trade issue is very important to support the competitiveness of the Canadian automotive manufacturing industry and its suppliers. We are hopeful it will also encourage continued progress towards approval of the Canada-U.S.-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA).
Today's announcement is a positive step forward and we will look forward to learning more about the details as they become available.
