CWB partners with local charities to offer The Greater Interest GIC®
EDMONTON, Sept. 21 /CNW/ - Canadian Western Bank (CWB or the 'Bank') is now offering The Greater Interest GIC® until October 31, 2010 through its branch locations across Western Canada. Last year, The Greater Interest GIC® campaign generated over $300,000 in donations for local children's charities.
This year, CWB has broadened the distribution of its community-based GIC product by introducing the Key Giving GIC®, which is available to clients across Canada though CWB's Internet banking division Canadian Direct Financial (CDF) www.canadiandirectfinancial.com.
"We had tremendous response to The Greater Interest GIC® in 2009 which prompted us to re-launch the campaign this year with the added offering of the Key Giving GIC®," says Peter Morrison, CWB's Vice President of Marketing and Product Development. "These banking products offer our clients a very competitive return on their guaranteed investments while helping children's charities across the nation. Our campaign goal for 2010 is to generate enough deposits to exceed the donation made last year."
Between September 1, 2010 and October 31, 2010, based on every dollar CWB clients invest in The Greater Interest GIC®, CWB will make a donation of 1/8% back into the community where the deposits were raised. Donations will be made to local Big Brothers Big Sisters chapters across Western Canada, and in the case of Edmonton and the surrounding area, to the local Youth Emergency Shelter Society.
Based every dollar Canadian Direct Financial clients invest in the Key Giving GIC®, CDF will make a donation of 1/8% to the national chapter of Big Brothers Big Sisters.
