Cyclists to Ride Entire Waterfront Trail from Niagara-on-the-Lake to Quebec Border
Fifth Annual "Great Waterfront Trail Adventure"
TORONTO, July 12, 2012 /CNW/ - The fifth annual Great Waterfront Trail Adventure Tour, a 730 km supported end-to-end cycling tour of the Ontario waterfront and greenways, passing through 41 Ontario communities in eight days, begins on July 14, 2012 and runs through to July 21, 2012. During the tour, organized by the Waterfront Regeneration Trust, cyclists will ride from Niagara-on-the-Lake in the west to the Quebec border in the east. Throughout the eight-day event cyclists will camp in two forts and cycle by and visit numerous heritage sites. Over 50 waterfront partners, including local municipalities, conservation authorities and community groups, will showcase waterfront communities along the Waterfront Trail, with overnight stops in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Hamilton, Toronto's Fort York, Oshawa, Trenton, Amherstview, Prescott, Cornwall and South Glengarry.
