Canadian Cancer Society announces its biggest daily lottery ever

TORONTO, Jan. 30, 2012 /CNW/ - The Canadian Cancer Society Ontario Division has launched its biggest daily lottery ever. Every day in April, three lucky ticket holders are going to win big, because there are no small prizes in the Daffodil Daily Lottery.

"This year's prize line-up is nothing short of spectacular, with daily cash prizes, daily travel prizes and the top Car a Day prize," said Janice Gray, Manager, Lottery, Canadian Cancer Society Ontario Division. "There are no radios, binoculars or toasters in this lottery. Every prize is a big prize and all of them can be taken as cash."

There are more cars and more big cash prizes than any other charity lottery in Ontario. The Society is proud to offer ticket holders the best chance to win a big prize.

Three bonus prizes will also be given away every week in April. A $10,000 travel prize will be awarded on Wednesdays, $25,000 in cash will be awarded on Thursdays, and a second car prize will be awarded every Friday.

"In addition to the daily and weekly prizes, we are offering 10 amazing grand prizes with three super grand prizes of $1 million each," added Gray. "This is the only charity lottery in Ontario with three one million dollar cash prizes."

Tickets are $100 each or three for $250. Early Bird tickets available until midnight March 16, 2012 and the final ticket purchase deadline is midnight March 20, 2012. The 10 Early Bird Draws for $50,000 each take place Friday, March 30, 2012 and daily draws take place April 1 - 30, 2012.

100 percent of the net revenue from the Daffodil Daily Lottery funds lifesaving research into all forms of cancer. Society-funded research is happening in hospitals and academic and research centres across Ontario. Due to research advances, today, 62 percent of people diagnosed with cancer will survive the disease, compared with only 1 in 3 in the 1960s.

The Canadian Cancer Society Daffodil Daily Lottery is on sale January 29, 2012 until midnight March 20, 2012 (while supplies last). The Early Bird deadline is midnight March 16, 2012. Tickets are available for purchase by mail, fax, phone [phone]) or online at lottery.cancer.ca. There are only 250,000 tickets available. Tickets are $100 each or three for $250. Tickets must be purchased in Ontario. Purchasers must be at least 18 years of age and cannot be purchased in the name of a minor.
