Making a Delicious Difference, Kraft Canada Increases Volunteerism to Meet Greater Need Through Company's Annual United Way Days of Caring Effort </pre> <p><location>TORONTO</location>, <chron>Oct. 6</chron> /CNW/ -- 30 volunteer projects. During this special week of service (Oct. 5-10), roughly 500,000 people in need will benefit.</p> <p/> <p>The effort will mobilize six times the number of volunteers than in previous efforts and build on the company's commitment to fighting hunger and promoting healthy lifestyles.</p> <p/> <p><person>Dino Bianco</person>, President of Kraft <location>Canada</location>, will join about 100 volunteers today at Daily Bread Food Bank. "We may be best known for making delicious foods, like Kraft Dinner and Delissio Pizza, but 'delicious' means much more than that," said Bianco. "We're unleashing the power of our global workforce to make a delicious difference in the communities where we do business. In today's challenging economy, the organization has seen an unprecedented increase in the number of individuals receiving assistance due to the recession. Daily Bread serves the majority of these people through neighbourhood food banks and meal programs in its 171 member agencies, and has witnessed need increase by 8 percent since 2008.
