TORONTO, Sept. 21 /CNW/ - The season premiere of DANCING WITH THE STARS on CTV won its 8-10 p.m. timeslot last night in total viewers and all key demos, with 41% more viewers than HOUSE and LONESTAR on Global/FOX. Registering its most-watched season premiere ever with 2.5 million viewers, DANCING WITH THE STARS was the third most-watched episode to date and up 27% compared to last season's premiere. The season premiere was a close second head-to-head at 8 p.m. against HOUSE (Global/FOX, 2.7 million), which dropped 36% compared to its previous season premiere.

Overall, CTV won Night 1 of Premiere week, with more viewers in primetime than any other Canadian network. On a night of series premieres, CTV delivered three out of the Top 5 programs on Canadian television with returning programs DANCING WITH THE STARS, CASTLE and TWO AND HALF MEN.
From 9-10 p.m., the powerful new comedy hour on /A\ was a huge success, with TWO AND A HALF MEN (1.33 million) and new series MIKE & MOLLY (894,000) ranking No.2 in the timeslot with an average of 1.1 million, outperforming the series premieres of LONESTAR (824,000) on Global/FOX and THE EVENT (1.08 million) on City/NBC.
At 10 p.m., surging third year drama CASTLE drew a series-high 1.9 million viewers winning the time period nationally with younger viewers (A18-34) and females (F18-34 and F18-49).
