TORONTO, Dec. 1, 2015 /CNW/ - The Board of Directors of Cycura Inc., a Canadian-based, international cyber security firm, has appointed Daniel Tobok, an internationally recognized cyber security and digital forensics expert, as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Tobok brings more than 18 years of experience in cyber security and digital forensics to Cycura.
"In this newly created role, Daniel Tobok will be chief spokesperson for Cycura. He has a well-earned reputation as a cyber security guru. That's why we want him to be the public face of Cycura around the world to continue, educating business leaders and executives about the risks, threats, and opportunities of an increasingly interconnected world," said Stephen Arbib, co-founder of Cycura.
Mr. Tobok will focus his efforts on building client relationships in the USA and Europe.
"Cyber security is the number one threat that all organizations and businesses need to worry about today," said Mr. Arbib.
In the Canadian legal profession, Mr. Tobok is well known on Toronto's Bay Street—home to Canada's leading national law firms. He has handled confidential investigations for many Bay Street law firms, during sensitive and high profile international mergers, acquisitions, and takeovers.
Cycura provides advanced, customized, and confidential cyber security services and cyber investigation services to governments, companies, and organizations with particularly high intellectual property (IP) value as well as critical data protection needs such as infrastructure.
"The cyber security landscape is always changing. In the last two years, cyber crooks and hackers have really upped their game," says Mr. Tobok. "In order to protect mission-critical data and networks, competitive and sensitive information, client records, and payment systems, we at Cycura have consistently upped our game as well," he adds.
Importantly, Cycura researches and develops proprietary software tools for forensics, cryptography, reverse engineering, vulnerability research, and exploit development. In addition, recruiting top talent is an ongoing priority; as great as software tools are, they never completely replace human intelligence and insight to "connect the dots."
