MONTRÉAL, Nov. 12, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - Fasken is pleased today to announce the arrival of new Counsel David Heurtel, who will be joining the Environmental Law, Energy and Climate Change Practice Group in our Montréal office.
David served as Minister of Sustainable Development, Environment, and Fight against Climate Change and more recently as Minister of Immigration, Diversity, and Inclusiveness. In the environmental field, he simultaneously managed several initiatives aimed at environmental protection and sustainable land revitalization. David has also been very active on the Canadian and international stages, having represented Québec in processes that included the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Convention on Climate Change in Lima (COP20), Paris (COP21), and Marrakech (COP 22).

David will focus his practice specifically on issues in relation to the consequences of the modernization of the Environment Quality Act; the development of industrial projects subject to the environmental impact assessment and examination procedure and the associated social acceptability issues; as well as transactions of the joint Québec-California carbon market.
