Davie opens its doors to celebrate Canada 150 - Celebrating the unveiling of the Resolve-Class naval support ship on 20th July at Davie Shipbuilding Français
LEVIS, QC, June 14, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - On the 20th July, Davie Shipbuilding – Canada's most experienced, largest and highest capacity shipbuilder - will unveil Canada's next Naval Support Ship - the Resolve-Class Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment Ship.
This will be the largest vessel to serve with the Royal Canadian Navy and will act as the mothership for Canada's fleet, providing critical replenishment of liquids and stores while at sea, aviation support, humanitarian and disaster relief and fleet medical facilities.
The Resolve-Class AOR was designed and built in Quebec by nearly 1,500 skilled shipbuilders and supported by 990 Canadian suppliers, 814 of which are based in Quebec. The unveiling of Davie's 719th ship is a testament not only to Quebec's long and proud shipbuilding heritage but also to human endeavor.
