The Sports Streaming Platform Teams Up With NBA Legend and Soccer Analyst Steve Nash, Former NFL Star Marshawn Lynch, and Renovation & DIY Expert Sebastian Clovis
One Lucky Football Superfan to Win A High-Tech, Tricked Out "Fan Cave"
TORONTO, Aug. 22, 2019 /CNW/ - Following the announcement of its "The New Home of Football" campaign in Canada, sports streaming platform DAZN unveiled today its roster of all-star spokespersons ahead of the 2019-20 season: NBA legend, soccer analyst, and club owner Steve Nash, former NFL superstar Marshawn Lynch, and renovation and DIY expert Sebastian Clovis. All three will engage with media and fans in Canada throughout the season about how no matter which football they favour, American or European, every game and every match – including the National Football League (NFL), Premier League, and UEFA Champions League – can be streamed on DAZN.
Additionally, DAZN has launched an exclusive contest in which one lucky football superfan in Canada will win, quite literally, a new "home" for football – in the form of an at-home space of their choice tricked out into the ultimate, high-tech football sanctuary. Whether it be a basement man cave, new backyard she shed, or a completely revamped living room, the lucky fan will receive a private consultation with Clovis and a premium renovation or buildout worth up to $50,000 – including multiple viewing devices fully loaded with DAZN and exclusive football swag courtesy of Nash and Lynch.
Fans curious for a peek at how the prize might come to life can visit a DAZN pop-up space in Toronto's Union Station, part of the brand's takeover of Canada's busiest transportation hub in what is the largest ever takeover by a single brand since the completion of Union's new renovations. This pop-up will be open to the public from now until Sept. 15 and is designed to be the ultimate fan cave, with DAZN playing on numerous devices, interactive football games throughout the space, free gifts, refreshments, and appearances in the weeks to come by VIP ambassadors – e.g., Nash, Lynch, Clovis, and others – for autograph signings and meet and greets.
"DAZN is changing the way Canadians watch the world's most popular sports by bringing the best football leagues to one platform at one low price," said Nash, who is a two-time NBA MVP but has devoted his retirement to soccer as a minority owner of the Vancouver Whitecaps FC and RCD Mallorca, amongst other professional and charity soccer endeavors. "As a kid growing up in Canada, it would have been a dream come true to have one app that gives you unlimited access anytime and anywhere to every single Premier League, Champions League, MLS, and Serie A game, plus other European soccer leagues and the NFL. DAZN is real game-changer and filling a void for all football fans across the country."
"This season will be a change for me since I'll be spending less time on the field and more time in The Town, watching football and my cousins on the big screen," said Lynch, who officially retired from the NFL this year after an illustrious career as a running back for the Buffalo Bills, Seattle Seahawks, and Oakland Raiders. "For fans in Canada, whether they're watching at the house or on the move, they can download DAZN and get exclusive access to NFL RedZone and catch every single game with NFL Game Pass – that's a finesse move and it's mando."
"As a huge football fan myself, I'm thrilled to be able to tap into that passion as well as my renovation and DIY expertise to give a lucky fan in Canada a truly spectacular new 'home' for watching football," said HGTV host Clovis, a former All-Canadian university football standout who successfully went pro with the CFL before pivoting to his other area of expertise – home renovation. "You can watch DAZN on any device, whenever and wherever, so I'll be making sure that the space is not only sleek and premium but also fully tricked out and teched out for the ultimate football viewing experience."
Residents of Canada (excluding residents of Quebec) are encouraged to enter for a chance to win "The New Home of Football" contest, live and open for entry now through September 15. To learn more about the contest and for entry details, click here.
Canadians can watch DAZN anywhere on any device, including smart TVs, PCs, mobile phones, tablets and game consoles. After a one-month free trial for new subscribers, unlimited access to the entire DAZN platform is just $20 per month or $150 per year.
