MONTRÉAL, Nov. 14, 2024 /CNW/ - On November 5, 2024, a hearing panel of the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) held a hearing pursuant to the Investment Dealer and Partially Consolidated Rules and accepted a settlement agreement, with sanctions, between CIRO Enforcement Staff and Desjardins Securities Inc.
Desjardins Securities Inc. admitted that it failed to establish and maintain a system that would enable it to adequately supervise the business activities of at least two of its registered representatives.
Pursuant to the settlement agreement, Desjardins Securities Inc. agreed to pay a fine of $225,000 and disgorgement of $623,924.73.
Desjardins Securities Inc. will also pay costs of $25,000.
