-Over 450 Deloitte employees are delivering JA programs today-
TORONTO, Oct. 13, 2017 /CNW/ - JA Canada, the largest provider of youth business education programs in Canada, is pleased to recognize the over 450 volunteers from Deloitte that are participating in classrooms across Canada to celebrate Deloitte's Impact Day, a longstanding tradition and a celebration of Deloitte's year-round commitment to collectively making an impact that matters in local communities.
On October 13, Deloitte employees across the country are participating in their company's Impact Day by volunteering with JA Canada to deliver financial literacy and work readiness programs to students. Deloitte is working with many local JA offices across the country, and it is expected that over 450 employees will deliver 225 JA programs to over 5,600 students today.
"At JA, we are extremely grateful to have a network of generous volunteers who help to bring the program experience to life in classrooms across the country each day," said Scott Hillier, President and CEO. "JA programs inspire students to understand their potential, set life goals and succeed at school and in business. With Deloitte's commitment to making an impact and giving back to JA, they are helping students learn about financial literacy and work readiness, which is essential to activating their future success."
"We are proud to partner with JA and offer our people the chance to support their communities in meaningful ways," said Blaine Woodcock, Chair of the Deloitte Foundation. "We're committed to empowering young people and ensuring their success in the context of our rapidly changing economy. And we strive to give future generations the opportunities and the skills they need to become leaders of tomorrow. Our work with JA on Impact Day—and throughout the year—is a powerful example of this commitment."
JA programs are based on three pillars of financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship. JA helps to prepare students to succeed in tomorrow's careers, solve tomorrow's challenges and launch businesses that create tomorrow's jobs. For more information, please visit us at www.jacanada.org.
