MONTREAL, April 4, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Desjardins Group—a major cycling supporter—is proud to partner with Vélo Québec by supporting the fourth Montreal Bike Fest.
This year's event will feature une escapade qui me ressemble—a contest with a grand prize of $3,000 in travel credit. To enter, visit the Desjardins Kiosk at one of the Vélo Québec events, such as the Montreal Bike Fest, or go to desjardins.com/cycling.
Participants at the Tour de l'Île de Montréal on Sunday, June 3, are invited to stop for a break at the third relay. Desjardins will be providing cyclists with healthy snacks and a rest area.
Once again this year, Desjardins Lunchtime Bike Kiosks will be held during the Montreal Bike Fest at the Grande Place at Complexe Desjardins in collaboration with Vélo Québec. The Lunchtime Bike Kiosks aim to keep cyclists—amateur and professional—up to date on summertime cycling events and inform them about Quebec's network of bike paths and various alternative transportation options. Cyclists will even have a chance to win Vélo Québec travel packages for two and annual memberships in the Bixi public bicycle system. Desjardins Lunchtime Bike Kiosks will be held on Thursday, May 24 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
"Cycling is part of our daily routine. It is a weekend sport for enthusiasts, a way for families to enjoy the outdoors together, an all-season form of exercise, an alternative way to travel, and an urban transportation solution. As an event that brings families together, encourages healthy exercise and provides environmentally-friendly transportation, Desjardins is proud to support the Montreal Bike Fest," says Marie-Huguette Cormier, Executive Vice-President of Communications at Desjardins Group and cycling enthusiast.
