$100,000 donation will be made to the Red Cross
LÉVIS, QC, Nov. 12, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Desjardins Group has announced it will donate $100,000 to the Philippine aid effort following the devastation caused by Typhoon Haiyan.
"We're saddened by the tragedy suffered by the many cities and communities in the Philippines," says Monique F. Leroux, Chair of the Board, President and CEO of Desjardins Group. "The terrible images that we've all seen are enough of a call for all of us to act."
Desjardins Group is also asking employees and the general public to donate to the Canadian Red Cross. People can contact any institution in the caisse network in Quebec or Ontario and mention "Red Cross - Typhoon Haiyan." As of tomorrow, Quebec caisse members will also be able to make a quick, simple and secure donation via AccèsD.
The Canadian Red Cross will automatically issue a tax receipt for donations of $20 or more. Receipts for smaller donations will be issued upon request.
