Desjardins increases donation and support for members and clients affected by flooding
500 employees have volunteered to help the Red Cross on the ground
LÉVIS, QC, April 30, 2019 /CNW Telbec/ - Last week, Desjardins announced a $50,000 donation to the Red Cross. Today, the organization brought the total up to $75,000 in support of flood victims in Québec, Ontario and New Brunswick. Added to that will be another $80,000 in donations by Desjardins members through AccèsD internet and mobile, and over the phone.
Desjardins is also offering a variety of solutions and providing financial flexibility for members and clients who have been affected by spring flooding. You can find more information here.
Desjardins on the ground
More than 500 Desjardins employees have already reached out to express their interest in volunteering with the Canadian Red Cross Ready When the Time Comes program. Some of them will receive training and work with Red Cross teams in regions where flooding has occurred.
Desjardins is also already planning support for cleanup operations being organized in different communities once the flooding subsides.
