Desjardins Supports the Awareness Campaign on Information Security
This awareness campaign confirms the needs to constantly hold the practices of Desjardins Group to the highest standard in terms of confidentiality and information security. Furthermore, because it is mainly intended for Internet users, the campaign aims to remind them that they must also use certain protection measures and know basic security rules in order to avoid certain inconveniences, such as identity thefts.
"Desjardins does its best to protect its members and clients and to ensure a highly-secure environment when they browse our Web sites. However, it is essential for the Web user to adopt security measures to optimize our standards. That is why such campaigns are relevant," said Louis-Daniel Gauvin, Senior Vice-President and Chief Risk Officer, Desjardins Group.
Desjardins suggests that its Web-browsing clientele implement simple measures to avoid fraud and protect themselves against scammers. Users are invited to use caution in their daily Internet activities. To do so, users are invited to consult the guidelines and security measures on the Desjardins Web site in the Online Security section: www.desjardins.com/security. This section is an awareness and educational tool against technological fraud.
