MONTREAL, June 10, 2020 /CNW Telbec/ - Yesterday, the Logistics and Transportation Metropolitan Cluster of Montreal (CargoM), presented by videoconference its 2019-2020 report to 75 people at its annual general meeting of members. Together with transportation and logistics stakeholders, many initiatives were set in motion again this year to improve fluidity, participate in economic development, promote marine sector jobs and training, and raise awareness of the Greater Montreal hub.
"We are pleased to present CargoM's annual report. Several initiatives and projects were carried out this year thanks to our members' involvement and determination and the full-time team's sustained commitment. With the onset of COVID-19, actions had to be taken to meet the many current challenges. Specifically, we identified storage space and labour needs, informed our sector through special communications, and developed a tool, in collaboration with the Port of Montreal and funded by Scale AI, to prioritize the distribution of essential goods. Despite the crisis, we are pursuing our mission to bring together all players in logistics and freight transport to ensure that our supply chain remains strong and resilient," said Mathieu Charbonneau, Executive Director of CargoM.
