Devine Design and "Cake" Decorating - North Hill Centre Hosts the Calgary Sugarcraft Guild Competition In Support of CF

Fundraising Event for Cystic Fibrosis Canada at North Hill Centre.

CALGARY, Nov. 6, 2013 /CNW/ - 10th North Hill Centre is hosting the Calgary Sugarcraft Guild as they display 41 cakes in the following categories: adult and youth, traditional and contemporary, multi-tiered, single tiered, sugar pieces and sculpted cakes.

The 4 day event includes:

• Cake displays by category for 4 days
• Professional Cake Judging: Thursday, November 7^th from 6 pm to 9pm
• Fondant and Sugar Design Demonstrations: Saturday, November 9^th from 11 am to 3 pm
• November 7 - 10: Vote in the "People's Choice Awards" with a 25 cent donation to CF

100% of all proceeds from our fundraising activities go to Cystic Fibrosis Canada.
Cystic Fibrosis is a multi-organ disease, primarily affecting the lungs and digestive system. Cystic Fibrosis causes severe breathing problems making it difficult to clear bacteria from the lungs, leading to cycles of infection and inflammation, which damages the delicate lung tissue. There is no cure.

The mission of the Calgary Sugarcraft Guild is to encourage, educate and promote the art of sugar crafting and cake decorating.  The guild started out as a small group who met at a members home and today has over 70 members, including pastry chefs, students, teachers and hobbyists, ranging in all ages.
