DHX Media licenses numerous properties in Central and Eastern Europe
HALIFAX, June 20, 2013 /CNW/ - DHX Media Ltd. (TSX: DHX), a leading independent creator, producer, distributor and licensor of mainly children's entertainment content, has secured a several deals for its internationally successful library ahead of regional sales conference, NATPE Budapest.
MTVA in Hungary has licensed Arthur, Caillou, and Sabrina, the Animated Series in a deal for Free TV.
Chello Central Europe has licensed season one of Horseland for its Minimax Channel in Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia and has also extended its license for seasons one though four of Radio Free Roscoe for its Megamax Channel, adding new territories including the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania.
VOYO, a Czech based CME digital platform has also licensed a number of properties for its SVOD portal including Inspector Gadget and Dennis the Menace.
In Greece and Cyprus, local channel Smile TV has licensed some of DHX Media's classic properties including, Adventures of Super Mario World 3, Super Mario World, Dennis the Menace and Sonic The Hedgehog.
Slovenian PRO PLUS has licensed SheZow and Sabrina, the Animated Series, as well as a number of other DHX Media properties.
Kids Network Television (KNTV) has finalized a deal with DHX Media to license Mona the Vampire and Horseland for its Cable Pay TV channel, KidsZone TV in Baltics. The multi-territory deal covers Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. As well, online platform stream.ru has licensed a number of properties for SVOD broadcast in Russia and CIS.
