HALIFAX, May 29, 2013 /CNW/ - DHX Media Ltd. (TSX: DHX), a leading independent creator, producer, distributor and licensor of mainly children's entertainment content, has licensed three of its key kids' shows to leading Belgian broadcaster, VRT-Ketnet.
The multi-property deal includes 52 episodes of the brand new DHX Media series SheZow, seasons one and two of the CBC-commissioned show Monster Math Squad and season one of Martha Speaks.
SheZow, was also recently licensed by Lagardère Active TV Channel Division to air on Canal J in France as well as in Italy via a five year deal with Switchover Media's kids' channel FRISBEE. DHX Media has worldwide (except Australia) TV and licensing and merchandising rights for the show.
Produced for CBC and SRC in Canada, seasons one and two of the CG animated show Monster Math Squad were recently licensed to PCCW's now TV channel in Hong Kong.
Additionally, seasons two and three of Martha Speaks were recently licensed to Super RTL in a TV and VOD rights deal and will be airing this year on the German broadcaster. The series is coproduced by DHX Media and WGBH Boston for PBS Kids and has already been licensed to broadcasters globally, including CBBC in the UK, Nick Jr Australia, JimJam Italy and Sun TV in India.
