DHX Media signs Spanish broadcaster and licensing agent for Animal Mechanicals
Signs up broadcaster TVE and licensing agent Enjoy for Spain
HALIFAX, May 31, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - DHX Media Ltd. (TSX: DHX), a leading independent international producer, distributor and licensor of mainly children's entertainment content is pleased to announce that it has signed up a broadcaster and licensing agent to establish its popular preschool series Animal Mechanicals in Spain, as it seeks to expand the licensing programmes for its library of internationally distributed TV properties.
TVE has come on board as broadcast partner for Animal Mechanicals in the territory, with DHX Media appointing Enjoy S.L headed by CEO Ruben Gil, as licensing agent for Spain and Portugal. The hit preschool series, which is one of the top-rating shows on commissioning channel CBC in Canada, will launch on 28th June airing Monday to Friday with repeats, and the broadcast launch will be supported by extended profile in Clan Magazine.
Local sub-licensing agent Enjoy will be seeking partners across all licensing categories for Animal Mechanicals and implementing local licensing strategies.
Michael Donovan, chairman and CEO of DHX Media said; "This Spanish deal for our Animal Mechanicals preschool series highlights the strength our international licensing team brings to our back catalogue of globally appealing brands."

Animal Mechanicals is an action adventure series for preschoolers that combines fantastical worlds, mythical animals and cool quests. And the best thing of all, they transform! In each episode, Rex, Unicorn, Komodo, Sasquatch and Mouse, a powerful team of transforming superheroes set off from Tiger Base, their island-in-the-sky home, for a mission. Their missions always take them to a new floating island that is like a fantastic theme park, with unique landscapes and features. Here, the Animal Mechanicals encounter fun and fantastic challenges. They must overcome these challenges by transforming into "super" versions of themselves and they get to choose and use their special abilities to help them complete their mission.
DHX Media has also produced an Animal Mechanicals App: Beetle Buggy Race, available on all iTunes stores worldwide. Game play centers around helping Mechana-Fast Mouse on her mission to pick up all the Beetle Buggies that are scattered and stuck on the racetrack. Gamers must drive quickly and carefully to gather the buggies and tow them to safety, all the while keeping an eye on the clock.
