TORONTO, Sept. 18, 2015 /CNW/ - DHX Television's rebranded preschool networks Family Jr. and Télémagino will be introduced to Canadian households, infusing a new level of inspiration, imagination and entertainment into families' lives. The transformation occurred for both English- and French-language subscribers this morning and viewers tuning into the channel will now get to experience the new brands that capture how children see the world, embodying their inventiveness, creativity and playful attributes. The Family Jr. and Télémagino networks are complemented by dedicated OnDemand channels and network websites, providing subscribers with a full multiplatform experience.
To celebrate the launch of Family Jr. and Télémagino, both networks are premiering an unprecedented number of new episodes of their most popular titles throughout the weekend. With all the series reflecting stories that embrace the imaginative nature of childhood, the weekend mornings and early afternoons are filled with must-see specials and shows. Brand new episodes of the following series debut on Family Jr. tomorrow and Sunday: Thomas & Friends, Strawberry Shortcake, Twirlywoos, Curious George, The Save-Ums!, Topsy and Tim, Julius Jr., Yo Gabba Gabba!, Sarah & Duck and Kate & Mim-Mim. On Télémagino, fans can expect new episodes of Thomas & Friends, Franny's Feet, The Save-Ums! and Bananas in Pyjamas. Popular titles including Jake and the Never Land Pirates, Sheriff Callie's Wild West and Henry Hugglemonster also remain part of the lineup through the fall.
Keeping both channels lineups fresh into the fall, new series, movies and special content will continue to be added to both the English and French network schedules as early as next month. On Saturday, October 3 beginning at 9:55 a.m. ET, Family Jr. will introduce the new Canadian original puppet series Playdate (from Sinking Ship Entertainment) to the lineup. Following Playdate, will be the new animated special Thomas & Friends: Sodor's Legend of the Lost Treasure, plus new episodes of The Save-Ums!, Topsy and Tim, Julius Jr. and Yo Gabba Gabba! leading up to the network premiere of the movie Curious George 2: Follow That Monkey at 6 p.m. ET.
Respectively, Télémagino is also packing in new content with two new series – Yo Gabba Gabba! at 7:30 a.m. ET and 1,2,3, Bo! at 9:30 a.m. ET – and new episodes of Strawberry Shortcake, Thomas & Friends, The Save-Ums!, Franny's Feet and Bananas in Pyjamas. Thomas & Friends: Sodor's Legend of the Lost Treasure conclude the new lineup for the day at 6 p.m. ET.
To introduce viewers to the new brand personality, Family Jr. and Télémagino have launched the Destination: Imagination Contest. Encouraging fans to let their imagination take flight, viewers can visit the network websites to enter for the chance to win a travel voucher, spending money and more to make their family's dream vacation become a reality. Viewers can enter daily and collect bonus entries on Saturday, October 3 beginning at 9 a.m. ET when tuning into the channel for special watch and win bonus codes. The contest closes on Sunday, October 4 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
