Diageo Canada Recognized as a Great Place to Work® for Seventh Year Running
--Jumps to 11th Best Large and Multinational Workplace --
--Added as 19th Best Workplace for Women --
TORONTO, April 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Diageo Canada has once again been named one of the country's best workplaces by the Great Place to Work® Institute Canada, which just released its annual rankings. This was the seventh year in a row that Diageo Canada was included on the list of 50 Best Large and Multinational Workplaces in Canada. This year the company moved up to 11th place from 26th. In addition, Diageo was recognized for the first time on the list of 50 Best Workplaces in Canada for Women, receiving 19th place.
"We are thrilled and honored to be recognized for the seventh consecutive year," said Jakob Ripshtein, President of Diageo Canada. "It's a credit to our employees, who live our values, embrace our culture and demonstrate their passion and commitment to our customers, colleagues, and business every day."
Ripshtein added, "We are also very proud to join the list of best workplaces for women. Diageo is dedicated to the successful development and advancement of women, and we believe that starts by fostering a culture in which all of our employees feel that they can bring their best."
This list of "Best Workplaces in Canada" is compiled by Great Place to Work® Institute Canada. The competition process is based on two criteria: two-thirds of the total score comes from a 58-statement survey completed by a random selection of employees, along with their open-ended comments about their organization; the remaining one-third of the score comes from an in-depth review of the organization's culture, including an evaluation of Human Resources policies and procedures. This offers a rigorous representation of the organization from an employee perspective, and an overall portrait of the workplace culture. Together, they provide crucial data relative to the five trust-building dimensions of a Great Place to Work®: credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie.
This year's list received more than 300 nominations and more than 60,000 employees participated in the 2015 "Best Workplaces in Canada" survey.
