Dialogue announces $4M in funding and expansion to Ontario
- Virtual health and wellness solution for employers gains momentum with key new clients -
TORONTO, March 6, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Dialogue (dialogue.co), the virtual health and wellness solution for employers, today announced $4M in seed funding to fuel its expansion to Ontario following a successful launch in Quebec.
Offered exclusively by choice employers as an employee benefit, Dialogue provides Canadian businesses with a wide range of services to keep their teams engaged, healthy and performing at their highest potential. The virtual platform is fully bilingual and is currently serving clients in both Quebec and Ontario, with plans for a pan-Canadian expansion.
The investment in Dialogue was led by venture capital launchpad Diagram and includes BDC Capital, Hacking Health Accelerator, and a group of experienced entrepreneurs.
"We are excited to announce our first expansion outside of Quebec, accelerated by particularly strong demand from Ontario employers," said Cherif Habib, co-founder and CEO of Dialogue. "This marks the beginning of accessible virtual care to employers across all of Canada."
Dialogue has attracted a distinguished group of physicians to its team, both generalists and specialists, many of whom have a decade or more years of experience and dual-licenses. The platform is also attracting an impressive lot of the best allied health professionals in Canada. The diversity of this group allows Dialogue to deal with a wide range of health and medical issues, including travel medicine, paediatrics, mental health, nutrition, preventative care and more.
"Dialogue represents the future of healthcare in Canada. By combining dedicated providers with leading-edge technology, Dialogue breaks the traditional model of patients displacing themselves to obtain care, instead offering service to patients wherever they are," said Dr. Mark Dermer, a family physician working with Dialogue and the Managing Associate at Central Ottawa Family Medicine Associates. "Working with their team gives health professionals the opportunity to offer timely, patient-centered care in the many circumstances when travel to an in-person visit is unnecessary."
Dialogue counts a number of marquee companies among its customers that have praised their B2B-focused approach, including McKinsey & Company, BCG (Boston Consulting Group), Power Corporation of Canada, and law firm BCF.
"We are excited to be offering this new benefit to our Canadian staff. We are committed to our employees' health and wellbeing and that of their families," said Cliff Grevler, the Managing Director of BCG Canada. "Immediate access to virtual healthcare helps ensure our employees don't delay in prioritizing their health and will enable them to stay productive at work and in their personal lives."
The virtual health and wellness solution has also appealed to the burgeoning tech and startup community in Canada by allowing employers to be more competitive and provide tech talent on-demand access to primary care, mental health therapy, and professional coaching.
"With the hunt for talent becoming increasingly competitive, we are constantly looking for ways to ensure we remain a great place to work for all our employees, at every stage of their lives," said Nora Jenkins, Director of People Operations at Wealthsimple, another Dialogue client. "In striving to offer our employees a great culture, workspace, and unmatched benefits, Dialogue complements our offering to support our employees both at work and outside of it."
