Dicom adds final mile and cross-dock capabilities in the U.S.
CHICAGO, June 22, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - Dicom Transportation Group, a leader in business-to-business transportation services, has acquired Orbis Logistics, which will add "final mile" capabilities and a stronger distribution presence in the United States.
Dicom, based in Montreal, Quebec, continues to execute on its strategy to extend geographic reach across Canada and into the United States, along with expanding its portfolio of transportation and logistics services. New and existing customers will gain access to strategically located distribution centers and final-mile delivery points, which will particularly benefit large-scale retail and industrial customers.
Orbis operates primarily within the Southeast and into the Midwest U.S. Orbis maintains final mile and cross-dock capabilities in New Orleans, Birmingham, Ala., Lakeland, Fla. and Indianapolis. Dicom will integrate the Orbis service into its portfolio that includes expedited, regional parcel transportation, less-than-truckload (LTL), full-truckload (FTL), cross-border, and final mile network capabilities.
