DIGITAL SHOW COMES TO TV: A FIRST IN CANADA. ROGERS MEDIA TO AIR "THE BOOTH"
ON CITYTV AUGUST 27th
TORONTO, Aug. 25 /CNW/ - Rogers Media announced today that the highly acclaimed online show "The Booth at the End" will air on Citytv August 27th at midnight. The Booth was first released online through "Shorts in the City," a Citytv.com programming initiative in partnership with Nissan Canada. The show was created by Vuguru, Michael Eisner's new media studio in which Rogers is an investor.
"The Booth at the End" centres on a mysterious Man (Xander Berkeley, 24) who sits at a booth at the end of a diner. People come to him with things they want: A parent with a sick child, a woman who wants to be prettier, a nun who wants to hear God again. The Man can make these things happen - for a price. In exchange for what they want, these individuals must sacrifice their morals and do deeds normally inconceivable to them. The Man never forces anyone to do anything. The show ultimately asks the question "How far would you go to get what you want?" "The Booth" is an ensemble cast showcasing well known actors from TV and film, including Sarah Clarke ("Sister Carmel"), Matt Nolan ("James"), Jennifer del Rosario ("Melody") and others.
"Viewers can catch the show August 27th at midnight on Citytv or they can go to Citytv.com, Shorts in the City to watch it there. We've created an innovative approach to windowing content and are excited to be making this show available on multiple screens for our audiences," said Claude Galipeau, SVP & GM Digital Media, Rogers Media.
