Awareness week encourages support for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals
HOUSTON, TX, March 5, 2018 /CNW/ - To shine a light on the importance of children's hospitals and how donations help kids get the best care when they need it, Direct Energy is pleased to participate in the second annual #ChildrensHospitalsWeek. As a member of the Miracle Millions Club, Direct Energy is proud to support Children's Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals) across North America throughout the year and are excited to participate in the week-long initiative.
Across North America, our employees will be encouraged to show their support and donate to their local children's hospital. Leaders across the organization will be sharing their personal stories and encouraging employees to do the same. With more than 10 million children treated each year, the children's hospitals touch every family.
Activities throughout the week will include:
- Wearing a band-aid. Show your support for children's hospitals by wearing a band-aid of your choice, taking a photo, and sharing it with the #ChildrensHospitalsWeek hashtag.
- Tuning in to a Facebook Live-A-Thon Wednesday, March 7, at 7:30 p.m. (EST): The exciting, live event will feature appearances by various celebrities and of course, the Champions, 10 kids who represent the 10 million kids treated annually at Children's Miracle Network Hospitals throughout the U.S. and Canada. Catch the action at Facebook.com/CMNHospitals.
- Driving online donations and building awareness. Direct Energy employees will be encouraged to leverage their networks and share www.helpmakemiracles.org/event/DE on their own social media pages.
"With the second annual #ChildrensHospitalsWeek in 2018, we're taking the opportunity to honor not only our Champions and partners, but also the hundreds of children's hospitals across the U.S. and Canada who impact the lives of millions of children annually," said John Lauck, president and CEO of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. "We're reminded daily of the fact that contributions of all sizes add up to provide critical funding for pediatric medical equipment, services, research and charitable care, and that community donations are vital for local kids in need."
"Direct Energy is deeply committed to supporting the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in the communities where our customers and employees live and work," said Manu Asthana, President, Direct Energy Home. "Encouraging our employees to show their support and donate throughout Children's Hospital Week will leverage our investment in the great care and research that happens every week in these hospitals across North America."
