District of Hudson's Hope employees ratify new agreement

VANCOUVER, Sept. 15 /CNW/ - Members of the B.C. Government and Service Employees' Union (BCGEU) employed by the District of Hudson's Hope have ratified a new collective agreement by 85 percent.

The new three-year agreement, which expires on December 31, 2012, includes a wage increase of six percent over three years, improvement to compassionate care leave provisions and the ability to bank more overtime.

"We're pleased to have reached this agreement," said Darryl Walker, BCGEU president. "Our members perform important work for the District."

The BCGEU represents 15 members at the District who perform administrative work and outside work, including maintenance and other duties.
