Domtar supports comprehensive consultation on climate change

DRYDEN, ON, Feb. 12, 2015 /CNW/ - Domtar is pleased that the Ontario Minister of Environment today has announced an extensive consultation on climate change recognizing the many complexities such policy will seek to address.
"We recognize that climate change policy development is rife with the possibility of unintended consequences," said Bonny Skene, regional public affairs manager. "It is important for Ontario to learn the hard lessons of unintended consequences experienced in other jurisdictions. We look forward to careful consideration of comprehensive, thoughtful, and transparent information exchange as we embark on this journey."
Domtar operates two manufacturing facilities in Northern Ontario, a pulp and paper mill in Espanola and a pulp mill in Dryden both which produce and use renewable energy in their processes. Domtar also manages two sustainable forest licenses on behalf of the Province of Ontario.
