MONCTON, Oct. 18, 2018 /CNW/ - The Salvation Army Thrift Store needs your donations to help make a difference in Moncton and surrounding communities.
With three locations in and around the city: 1185 Mountain Road, 300 Elmwood Drive and 1127 Champlain Street (Dieppe), donations are vital in providing assistance to neighbours in need. "We rely on this community's giving spirit to operate. It is only through generous donations that we can provide assistance to thousands locally," says Salvation Army Thrift Store Assistant Retail District Manager, Matthew Nogueira.
A part of the community for over 15 years The Salvation Army Thrift Store provides close to $112,000 annually to support local Salvation Army programs and services that assist in the fight against poverty for families and individuals in Moncton.
With winter fast approaching, which is a slower donation time, the three Thrift Stores are in need of clothing and household items. "Donations are the lifeblood of what we do. We need donations no matter how small or large – one item or multiple, so that we can provide support to those in need," Nogueira added.
Through shopping and donating at The Salvation Army Thrift Store residents are assisting to divert thousands of pounds of clothing, textiles, household items and furniture from local landfills for a cleaner community. "We give a second chance at life to items you no longer need that someone else will treasure. Thrifting with us, whether through shopping or donating is a win-win for the community and the environment," Nogueira said.
Donations are accepted daily at Elmwood and Mountain Road, including Sundays. Donations are accepted Mondays - Saturdays at Champlain Street. For a donations accepted list and to learn more about The Salvation Army Thrift Store visit www.thriftstore.ca.
