TORONTO, May 9, 2018 /CNW/ - Sable Resources Ltd ("Sable") (TSXV: SAE) is pleased to announce that drilling has begun on the Margarita Project after the Company received permits from the government of Mexico and access agreements from the surface rights holder. The initial program consists of over 4,000 m of core drilling to test the 1.7 km of silver bearing epithermal quartz veins. This Phase 1 drill program will be expanded should positive results warrant additional drilling.
This is the first time drilling has been performed on the Margarita structure and is designed to test for high-grade precious metal horizons approximately 200 metres below mineralized surface samples. Company geologists recognized surface samples with low-temperature silica textures combined with precious metal values and elevated arsenic and antimony values indicating a position in the upper levels of an epithermal system. Results from the program will be released as they are received over the next few months.
The Margarita Project is fully surrounded by Sunshine Silver Mine Corporation's Los Gatos Project which contains the Cerro Los Gatos deposit. The Cerro Los Gatos deposit hosts a measured and indicated resource of 9.2 million tonnes grading 289 ppm silver, 5.7% zinc, 2.8% lead, and 0.36 ppm gold for a resource of 178 million ounces silver-equivalent (Sunshine Silver Mining and Refining website published NI 43-101 report titled "Feasibility Study of the Cerro Los Gatos Silver-Lead-Zinc Deposit Los Gatos Project" January 2017).
