Drumroll Please! Nominees Announced for the 2012 MUCHMUSIC VIDEO AWARDS

TORONTO, May 15, 2012 /CNW/ - Earlier today MuchMusic announced the nominees for the 2012 MUCHMUSIC VIDEO AWARDS, live on NEW.MUSIC.LIVE. Audience members joined the NEW.MUSIC.LIVE. team and special guests to announce that Vancouver's own punk rockers Marianas Trench took the lead this year with an incredible seven nominations. Toronto's own superstar Drake tied with pop-rockers Hedley with five nominations each, while Down With Webster and pop darling Carly Rae Jepsen tied with four nominations each. Previously announced co-hosts and performers, as well as first time nominees, LMFAO also snagged two nominations. Additional first time nominees include Adele, Anjulie, The Sheepdogs and Victoria Duffield. The nominees join previously announced performer, international teenage dream and double nominee Katy Perry and party-rockin' co-hosts LMFAO at the biggest street party on the planet, airing live Sunday, June 17 at 9 p.m. ET on MuchMusic. The 2012 MMVA awards also air live on Fuse in the U.S., the national music television network of The Madison Square Garden Company. The MMVAs RED CARPET SPECIAL kicks it all off at 8 p.m. ET.

UR Fave International Artist or Group - Adele
UR Fave Artist or Group - Hedley
