DUC launches new podcast just in time for summer!
OAK HAMMOCK MARSH, MB, June 29, 2017 /CNW/ - Hey podcast lovers! Are you looking for a smart, funny, science-themed podcast to add to your listening list? Stop your search. Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) has launched our very own show, just in time for summer.
Find it now on our iTunes channel or at ducks.ca/podcast.
In each episode, our charming and quirky host, Wayne MacPhail gives listeners an intro-duck-tion (see what we did there?) to the world of waterfowl and wetland research.
Tune in and discover how scientists and engineers in Atlantic Canada use microchip technology to build better fishways, why cold surfaces don't seem to bother ducks, and what it's really like to conduct research in the boreal forest.
"There's a huge demand for this kind of content," says Jared Clarke, host of The Prairie Naturalist, a popular CJTR radio program and podcast, recorded in Regina, Sask. "People want to be more connected to nature…it's fascinating. And it's way better than reality TV," he says.
So this summer, ditch the remote and reality show reruns for a pair of earbuds and some backwoods trails or an open lake.
We'll release a new episode at the top of each month. Don't miss out. Subscribe to our podcast feed on iTunes now.
And if you like what you hear, please share the DUC Podcast with friends and family. You can also provide a "fly" review on iTunes and via social media using #DUCpod, so other bird nerds, conservationists, science geeks, and nature-lovers can find us too.
Happy listening. We'll see you in the DUC Podcast pond!
Pst. Are you the host or producer of a radio program? Visit ducks.ca/podcast to download an MP3 file of our most recent episodes. Then, play us anytime you want!
