George Brown
College Chowder winners will be celebrated at the
George Brown
Alumni Lunch at the Duke of Westminster pub.
Students from
George Brown
College's Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts competed in a chowder contest. Each student had to create their chowder on a limited budget and the recipe had to include an Alexander Keith's beer as an ingredient. The top three chowders were chosen on
Wednesday, October 21
by a panel of judges at the
George Brown
College restaurant, The Chefs' House.
The top three winners will receive their awards during the
George Brown
Alumni Luncheon.
1st Place: Devin Shanks
2nd Place: Hyun Jung Kim
3rd Place: Loretta Paulmert
From September to November, the Duke Pubs and Alexander Keith's have been promoting the Dukes' partnership with
George Brown
College. At the
November 25
event, the Duke Pubs will present the
George Brown
Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts with a donation; the proceeds were raised from the sales of all Keith's products during the month of October.
Please join us as we celebrate and honour the
George Brown
College Chowder Contest winners, their fellow students and Alumni, and their school. Tickets are
$10
and include samples of the top three chowders plus a Keith's sampling. All proceeds from the luncheon will be donated to the
George Brown
College Yes Chef Campaign.
