Best-ever results for annual TD United Way Employee Giving campaign - up 21 per cent year-over-year

/CNW/ - Despite the challenging economic times, TD employees and retirees from across
Canada
stepped up and raised a record-breaking
$10,137,208
as part of the Bank's annual TD United Way Employee Giving campaign. Together, TD employees and retirees donated
$7 million
with the remaining
$3.1 million
coming from TD corporate donations. Every dollar contributed as part of the campaign goes directly to United Way and other charities in
Canada
to support causes such as youth employment programs, newcomer settlement services, shelters, food banks and other vital social services in hundreds of communities.

This year's campaign, which ran from November 9-27, 2009, was the most successful to date, up 21 per cent year-over-year.
