Dymon & The Ottawa Mission team up to set a new #GivingTuesday fundraising record during the Global Day of Giving on Tuesday, November 27th
OTTAWA, Nov. 21, 2018 /CNW/ - After raising over $82,000, and exceeding their 2017 daily fundraising goal by 270% in the partnership's inaugural year, The Ottawa Mission and Dymon are proud to announce they are once again partnering for a #GivingTuesday initiative.
Giving Tuesday is a global giving movement in communities across Canada and countries around the world. Just as Black Friday kicks off the holiday shopping season, Giving Tuesday is the opening day of the giving season. The Ottawa Mission is asking residents and businesses for donations of any amount to help provide a warm meal this Christmas to citizens in need and to support the many programs offered within the community. The Ottawa Mission's total campaign goal for #GivingTuesday is $95,000. Building on last year's success, donations received on Tuesday, November 27th will be matched dollar for dollar by Dymon, up to the total amount of $15,000. In addition to the planned $15,000 contribution, Dymon will also be matching employee donations up to $1,000 per person.
To achieve another ambitious fundraising record, and help our neighbours in need, The Ottawa Mission and Dymon ask for your help in spreading the word. To make it easy to bring awareness to this initiative, The Ottawa Mission has created a number of online sharing tools at www.ottawamission.com/givingtuesday.
"While most people know Dymon as a thriving and Ottawa proud business, they may not know how deeply entrenched Dymon's commitment to giving back is within their culture. This commitment played a key role in our ability to make Giving Tuesday 2017 the best performing fundraising day in our foundation's history, which is why we're very excited to be partnering with Dymon again this year. With their help, and those of you within the community, we're hopeful we will once again set a new fundraising record and reach our $95,000 campaign goal." – Aileen Leo, Director of Communications, The Ottawa Mission.
"Since 1906, The Ottawa Mission has done outstanding and important work within our community supporting citizens who have experienced homelessness and hunger. Helping our community's more vulnerable citizens is equally crucial today and we are very proud to be continuing and expanding our partnership with them for this year's #GivingTuesday initiative. With the support of residents and businesses, we can once again set a new record together and help even more of our neighbours." – Glen Luckman, CEO, Dymon Group of Companies
