MONTRÉAL AND VANCOUVER, Nov. 27, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - EACOM Timber Corporation, a leading manufacturer and marketer of lumber related products in Eastern Canada, today announced the appointment of Kevin Edgson as its President and Chief Executive Officer, replacing current CEO Rick Doman who will serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors going forward. These changes will be effective on December 1, 2013.
Commenting on the management changes, Rick Doman said, "The Board of Directors of EACOM and I are very pleased to welcome Kevin to join the company as CEO. Kevin has been involved in the forest products industry for 27 years and is joining us after serving most recently as CFO of Millar Western Forest Products. The Board and I continue to focus on positioning EACOM as one of the lowest cost, most efficient lumber companies in North America, and we believe that Kevin has the experience and qualifications to implement this vision. I look forward to continuing on with EACOM as Chairman of the Board as the company focuses on investing in Eastern Canada."
In reaction to his new role, Kevin Edgson stated, "I am excited to assume this new role and follow Rick as the next CEO of EACOM Timber Corporation. EACOM has made significant progress over the past several years implementing a substantial capital investment program and restarting idled mills; however, there continues to be a tremendous opportunity to improve operating efficiencies and transform EACOM into a leading forestry company. I look forward to working with the employees, governments, communities and all stakeholders to generate jobs and economic opportunities in a manner that is consistent with sustainable forestry practices."
