East Coast Music Awards get national broadcast on Eastlink TV
HALIFAX, March 4, 2013 /CNW/ - Canadian music fans from coast to coast can enjoy the 25th annual East Coast Music Awards from the comfort of their own living rooms.
Eastlink is providing its customers with live, national coverage of this year's "Eastlink presents: The Chronicle Herald East Coast Music Awards Gala" on its local programming channel, Eastlink TV this Sunday, March 10.
"On our 25th Anniversary, it is deeply satisfying to have our Gala Awards show broadcast live over the Eastlink network," said Scott Burke, Executive Director of the ECMA. "National and international visibility for East Coast musicians is the ultimate goal of the East Coast Music Association. We've seen so many musicians catapulted to fame from showcasing during Eastlink East Coast Music Week; a national broadcast represents the widest possible sharing of the great talent we boast in Atlantic Canada."
Eastlink TV Vice President Michael Smith says the company is honoured to help support the East Coast Music Association and local artists.
"This is an excellent opportunity to help promote local East Coast musicians and those working in the music industry with national exposure on Eastlink TV," said Smith. "We're also excited to announce that we've been working collaboratively with Rogers TV to expand the viewing area further. As a result, they will be televising our live coverage of the Gala in New Brunswick and Newfoundland."
The Eastlink presentation of the Chronicle Herald East Coast Music Awards Gala airs Sunday, March 10 at 8 pm (AST) live from the Cunard Centre in Halifax with hosts David Myles and Rose Cousins. This year's Gala will include performances by Ashley MacIsaac, Classified, Rich Aucoin and many more.
As title sponsor, Eastlink will showcase East Coast Music Week, March 6-10, live in HD, OnDemand and on Eastlink's new TV anywhere platform, Eastlink To Go, including:
- national coverage of the Gala Awards Show and the Red Carpet event
