Easter Seals Canada set to raise more than $800,000 during 2014 Paper Egg Campaign!
TORONTO, March 26, 2014 /CNW/ - Easter Seals Canada launches the 2014 Easter Seals Paper Egg campaign today, involving national and local retailers in a fundraising campaign poised to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars in support of children with disabilities.
During the four-week campaign, which ends on Easter Sunday, April 20th, sponsor retailers will invite shoppers to purchase $2 Paper Eggs and write their names on them. Throughout the campaign, store staff will post the colourful eggs on store walls to demonstrate the community's support for Easter Seals programs and services.
The Bargain! Shop-Red Apple and Booster Juice have returned as national sponsors. Since 2007, The Bargain Shop-Red Apple has been Paper Egg's top national fundraising sponsor, raising more than $1 million in six years. In just three years, Booster Juice stores across the country have raised more than $130,000. Regional sponsors include Lawtons Drugs.
"We cannot thank enough our Paper Egg sponsors and the countless Canadians who support this campaign every year," says Max Beck, CEO of Easter Seals Canada. "It's amazing what $2 collectively will do. All Canadians have the power to ensure that kids with disabilities have access to programs and services that will help transform their lives."
Since the launch of the program in 2000, the campaign has raised $6.5 million. In 2013, the campaign raised $822,466.
The Paper Egg Campaign marks the end of March is Easter Seals Month, an annual fundraising campaign that also raises awareness of the ongoing issues and needs of children with disabilities and how Canadians can lend their support in their own communities.
