HALIFAX, Nov. 20, 2012 /CNW/ - Eastlink unveiled today its latest video innovation, Eastlink To Go, giving its busy, digital TV customers on the go the ability to access TV content on their computers, tablets and smartphones, anywhere, anytime, at no extra cost.
"We have a long, proud history of innovation connecting our customers with the things and people that are important in their lives - over our world class fibre network," says Lee Bragg, Eastlink CEO. "In today's video landscape, the amount of video content our customers watch continues to increase and so do the ways in which they want to view that content. Eastlink To Go allows us to deliver movies and TV shows OnDemand, as well as live content including local sports coverage across all devices with one consistent user experience."
Bragg explains that it is Eastlink's mission to deliver a line of innovative services that extend beyond traditional telecommunications with the vision of creating the ultimate, fully-connected customer experience.
Powered by Cisco Videoscape, Eastlink To Go is a technology platform that allows Eastlink digital customers to enjoy their TV service, in more places and on more screens than ever before.
"Eastlink To Go offers a versatile and highly convenient TV experience, allowing users to take their TV service with them for anywhere, anytime access," says Mark Kummer, Vice President, Service Provider, Cisco Canada. "It's a great example of Eastlink using innovative technology to stay competitive by offering its customers new and exciting services to meet their growing demands."
Eastlink introduces its new Eastlink To Go platform with access to Hollywood Suite (Sony Movie Channel, AXN Movies, and MGM Movies), Super Channel Movies and TV Shows, Eastlink TV Live and OnDemand programming including live local sports, by simply logging in to a one-step, easy-to-use web portal.
In keeping with Eastlink's commitment to continuously add content to its video platforms like Eastlink OnDemand (now approaching 10,000 titles) and its HD lineup (now approaching 150 channels), Mr. Bragg assures that same commitment to adding new features and content often on its new Eastlink To Go platform.
In fact, Eastlink confirms that in the days ahead customers can expect content additions that include Treehouse, YTV, OWN and the Galaxie Music Channels with many more to follow.
Eastlink To Go is the most recent in a series of new innovative products and services. In October, the company launched Eastlink Home Security and Eastlink Premium Support.
