eBay and Preloved launch Fall 2010 collection

New eco-friendly collection available on eBay.ca starting November 3

TORONTO, Oct. 12 /CNW/ - Designed with the eco-conscious consumer in mind, eBay and Preloved today launched Preloved for eBay, a new collection of eco-friendly clothing available exclusively on eBay.ca.

The collection, which was designed with the Preloved philosophy of sustainability, includes nine one-of-a-kind pieces that have been created using reclaimed, vintage fabrics. The collection signals the first time that Preloved is making its designs available on eBay.ca.

"Offering Preloved designs to eBay's community of eco-conscious consumers is an exciting first for us," said Julia Grieve, founder, Preloved. "We've designed the collection with new and existing customers in mind, bringing back favourites from past seasons and also introducing select pieces from our Fall 2010 collection in exclusive fabrics."

The Preloved for eBay collection for Fall 2010 includes the following pieces:

• Miss Ellie: A classic, long-sleeved cardigan with shawl collar and five-button closure created using four reclaimed wool sweaters.
• Miss Parker: A long-sleeved, bolero-style sweater with an asymmetrical four-button closure and generous collar created using four reclaimed wool sweaters.
• Heather Cardigan: Preloved's take on the classic button-down cardigan created using four reclaimed wool sweaters.
• Gia Sweater: A short-sleeved, loose fitting sweater tunic with enveloping sleeve detail and cross over neckline created using four reclaimed wool sweaters.
• Honey Sweater: A long-sleeved crewneck sweater with a playful contrasting heart shape created using three reclaimed wool sweaters.
• Patricia Sweater: A two-toned, short-sleeved sweater with draped neckline created using two reclaimed wool sweaters.
• Jeannine Tote: Imagine a fabulous winter sweater turned into a girl's favourite accessory. This is the perfect carry-all tote created from one wool sweater, a reclaimed leather skirt, two reclaimed khakis, and reclaimed curtain.
• Maddie Scarf and Betty Mitts: The perfect winter accessories. The scarf is made from 20 panels of reclaimed wool sweaters and measures over eight feet long. The stylish and cozy mittens are made from sweater remnants and felted for maximum warmth.

The collection ranges in price from $59 to $154 CAD and is available for purchase starting on November 3 at www.ebay.ca/preloved.

Each item in the Preloved for eBay collection is made using reclaimed fabrics, giving a new home to items of clothing that may have only been worn once or twice - or even never. Giving these items a second life means reducing one's carbon footprint (calculations provided by Cooler, Inc.):

• Choosing one gently worn sweater saves the energy equivalent of 68 loads of laundry.
• Selecting a previously-owned leather clutch saves as much energy as not watching TV for three days straight.
