Eckler Ltd. acquires Quantitative Service Measurement (QSM) Survey, expanding benchmarking capabilities and public sector client base

TORONTO, June 20, 2013 /CNW/ - Eckler Ltd., a leading Canadian-owned consulting and actuarial firm, announced that it has acquired the rights to the Quantitative Service Measurement (QSM) Survey and its intellectual property from Corden Consulting Inc. Since 1991, QSM has provided an in-depth survey for participating organizations that benchmarks both their pension administration costs and services.

"The acquisition of QSM is part of Eckler's commitment to growing its benchmarking capabilities," says Ian Edelist, principal and Toronto pension practice leader. "The survey provides a wealth of information to pension plan administrators with benchmarks in a number of critical areas including costs, volume drivers, service response times and qualitative risk management."

Seven large public sector organizations from across Canada, who either sponsor pension plans and/or administer them on behalf of several pension plans, participate in the QSM survey. Senior leaders from the participating organizations meet twice a year to share common issues and business practices relating to the administration of their pension plans. Past meetings have focused on the following:

• Operational risk management
• Member service delivery models
• Plan member communications and engagement
• Computer systems
• Governance at the administrative level
• Social media risks and opportunities
